Our Story
Sherri

Sherri Rush earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting and master’s in business administration from Indiana Wesleyan University. She has been the accountant and CFO at the Community Foundation of Grant County since 2002. She and her husband have a dog and two cats.

Sherri and her first husband had been married more than 26 years when in 2014 he suffered a massive stroke, leaving him 100% disabled with hemiplegia and a child-like mentality. In the years since his stroke, Sherri has worked through the stages of grief: shock, denial, anger, fear, panic, guilt, loneliness, and depression. Helping others has emerged through these stages. She knew these experiences would be valuable to others someday, and she is glad to have reconnected with a friend who experienced divorce, so together they can share what they have learned with others through Storm Lifeline.

The mission of Storm Lifeline is to provide a lifeline of moral support and practical resources

for those facing crisis circumstances after abandonment through divorce, abandonment

through death, or abandonment through life-altering illness or accident.
